<p>From the desk of Arlene Floyd:</p><div>On Friday, April 15, 2011 President Obama signed a budget agreement that cuts $140.2 million from the Perkins Grant, including completely eliminating targeted funding for Tech Prep. We have notified by Ohio Department of Education, Office of Career, Technical and Adult Education that all federal funding from Perkins Title II for Ohio College Tech Prep consortia will cease as of July 1, 2011.</div><div> </div><div>After 15 years of educational service to students, schools and the community, the Mahoning Area Consortium Tech Prep will cease operations.</div><div> </div><div>You are cordially invited to attend the final Mahoning Area Consortium Tech Prep meeting and dinner on Thursday, May 19, 2011, 5-7 PM, Presidents’ Suite, Kilcawley Center, Youngstown State University. Complimentary parking will be provided in the Wick Deck.
